Uneasy calm as Ladipo traders closed shops over fear of attack

Traders in Ladipo auto spare parts market, Toyota Bus Stop, Mushin Lagos yesterday hurried home over rumour of attack by political thugs.

The traders who questioned if it was a crime to vote for anyone they chose could make Nigeria better or if it’s a crime to live in another man’s land, started leaving for their various homes at about 4:30pm, instead of their normal closing hour of 6:30pm.

One of the leaders who spoke with The Guardian said, “we are afraid of the government, we don’t know what is happening. They’ve been attacking our brothers across the state so, we have to summon an emergency meeting for everyone to return to their homes when it is still visibility. They attack our people in Oshodi, Mushin, Shogunle, Orile so, we don’t know what to do.

“By now, we ought to know who will win the election but this time, we are not sure of anything. What do they have in mind?. They should remember we are the masses they want to rule so, if they are not okay to lead, they should go and let a better person lead.

Not all the Igbos voted for PDP, some voted for AAC, YPP, some cast their vote for the APC. Rochas Okoracha is a member of the APC. Tinubu said that Lagos cannot contain all of us if we did not vote for APC that we should go back to Igboland.
