As part of its efforts and in fulfillment of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) mission to reach out to everyone through its Christian Social Responsibility(CSR) intervention programmes, The Pastor-in-Charge of RCCG LP 47, Pastor Femi Obaweya, yesterday handed over the newly renovated Nigeria Police Force Area F, Ikeja, Lagos, Canine Division.
The special assistant to the General Overseer (G.O) on Christian Social Responsibility (CSR), Pastor Idowu Iluyomade flanked by Commissioner of Police, Animal Branch (FAB),Force Headquarters, Abuja, AishatuAbubakar during the commissioning of Nigerian police Canine service
According to Pastor Obaweya, the state of the dysfunctional k-9 Division of the Area Fwas not befitting of Nigeria Police Force. “The saw the division in a bad state and we then promised to work towards uplifting the current facility. During the visit, we also observed that there was no direct water supply to the facility which also possess a challenge to the effective running of the facility.

We commenced work after we got the approval of the Nigeria Police, proceeded to renovate the facility, including sinking a borehole and providing a 3.8KVA generator to power the surface tank and the provision and replacement of all metal gadgets (runway, fences, loops, barriers, etc.) with new ones for the training of the dogs.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony, the Special Assistant to the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God on Christian Social Responsibility (CSR), Pastor IdowuIluyomade, said, “We have done all these for the NPF as our contribution and appreciation to the Nigerian Police Force good works to the community and state where we reside”. He also highlighted the other intervention programmes of the church through its charity arm His Love Foundation where over 57 million meals have been served across 197 countries where the church is in operation over the last one year.

Iluyomade said in addition to the numerous beneficiaries of the health intervention programmes of the church where major medical treatments have been sponsored like kidney transplants and the donation of an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), that another ICU would be commissioned on Friday, May 10, 2019 at the Plateau State Teaching Hospital, Jos by Pastor E.A Adeboye as part of the CSR programmes of the church.
His Love Foundation has always been supporting the police, we sunk over 10 boreholes in NPF in Lagos alone and this is just an addition to some of the things we are doing, we have our footprint in about 43,000 all over Nigeria so, this is love in action. God used an animal, a donkey in the bible to set a prophet who was disobedient right. Animals have rights and we as a church and as a foundation, this is one of the things we do to support; we really need to support the police.

In her response, the Commissioner of Police, Animal Branch (FAB),Force Headquarters, Abuja, Aishatu Abubakar, said the renovation of the K-9 facility and provision of 3.8kva generator is indeed commendable and no doubt enhance effective policing of the State at large. “This kind of gesture by one of our well-respected Christian denomination couldn’t have come at a better time than this.

While calling on well meaning Nigerians, corporate entities, religious organization to emulate the gesture, she said, “we want to ensure the church and Nigerians our unalloyed support and commitment towards ensuring a safer and protected Nigeria, which is one of the cardinal points of the present police management team.

She thanked the leadership of RCCG and specifically the Pastor in Charge of Province 47 Pastor Femi Obaweya for his support and generosity.
