Akeredolu Boasts To Level Ikale Land, Says Their Votes Is Unnecessary

Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu has threatened to level the Ago- Alaye people of Okitipupa Local Government area of the state over the recent communal clash between residents of Araromi Obu and their Ikale neighbours in Ago Alaye over land dispute.

It had earlier been reported the clash between the two communities in Ago Alaye in July which claimed lives of four persons and property worth millions of naira destroyed.

Speaking with traditional rulers in the palace of Abodi of Ikaleland, Oba Francis Faduyile, Akeredolu in a seven minute audio obtained by The Politico, Akeredolu was heard speaking boastfully on top of his voice.

He said, “What happened in Ago -Alaye must not repeat itself and if anybody tries it I’m saying it now I will level that place and nothing will happen.

“We are not afraid if on election day you refuse to vote for us, we will go on our own, If you don’t vote us we are not going to lose anything, we have said our own, any repeat will be very devastating” the governor warned.

Speaking further, “I saw some letters you wrote to rubber estate; I have told them not to deal with you, we have acquired that place, it has nothing to do either with Abodi or Ikale.

“Leave rubber estate alone, I will not encourage it, after so many years you are talking about taking rubber estate; government has acquired it so that is where we are”

Recall that Maj. Gen. Oluyemi Bajowa (rtd) had during a press conference last Thursday in Akure, the state capital, said Governor Akeredolu’s utterances against monarchs from Ikale lacked decency and not expected from the number one citizen of a state.
